I’ve had the privilege to work with the Dr. James Cameron Legacy Foundation in the past when I develop a custom WordPress theme for the America’s Black Holocaust Museum many years ago. Having the chance to work with them on a new website to promote the 3rd edition of Dr. Cameron’s book A Time of Terror: A Survivor’s Story was a huge thrill for me. Dr. Fran Kaplan and the other members of the board are wonderful people doing powerful and positive work and for me to be a part of that was a true honor.
Tasks and Features:
Design to reflect the book cover
Responsive/Mobile-friendly website
Ability to easily layout content
Online form to download book excerpts
Common sidebar for showcasing praise about the book
Ability to socially share pages/posts
Common slider to showcase images and book quotes
Starting as a new website the main focus was picking a theme and layout that would work well to create a visual impact that would reflect the book’s cover. Content from the book would need to be displayed and be presented in a manner that was easy on the eye while still allowing for graphical support for the text. Once this theme was found, modified, and installed, it was a simple manner of laying out the elements provided by Dr. Fran Kaplan.
